Unactivation

Only one Ignition gateway instance is allowed to be activated at a given time, for a given CD Key. If you would like to activate Ignition on a different server, you must first unactivate the previous server.

To unactivate, go to System > Licensing. On that page you will see the currently installed license, with the option to "unactivate" at the bottom of the display. Clicking this link and following the instructions will initiate the unactivation procedure.

Unactivation is virtually the exact opposite of Activation. In the process, an "unactivation request" will be generated. The software will be unactivated immediately, but a new activation will not be available until the unactivation request is received by Inductive Automation. There are both online and offline options for transferring the request, as with activation.
